Position Details: The School of Criminology and Security Studies (SCSS) at Indiana State University welcomes applications for two (2) tenure-track positions at the rank of assistant professor in its Cybercriminology and Security Studies program. Both positions will begin in August 2026.

Indiana State University is a comprehensive institution of higher learning with approximately 8,000 students. The School of Criminology and Security Studies is housed in the College of Arts & Sciences, and has three major programs: Criminology and Criminal Justice, Cybercriminology and Security Studies, and Intelligence Analysis. The Cybercriminology and Security Studies program, which offers concentrations in Cybercrime and in Physical Security, has almost 150 undergraduate majors and is growing. In 2022, the Cybercrime concentration within the major program was recognized by the US National Security Agency as a Program of Study, resulting in the University's designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense. In June 2022, the School also launched the Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Criminology Center (IC3) to serve as a hub of cybersecurity education and training within the state of Indiana. The School also hosts four investigative units that provide students with hands-on experience and internships related to cybercriminology, including the High-Tech Crime Unit, the Jail Intelligence Unit, the Cold Case Unit, and the Human Trafficking and Intel Unit. The School also boasts the Robert E. Casey Cyber-Intel Lab for academic teaching. Specific Responsibilities: For the first position, the successful candidate will principally teach courses related to computer hardware/software, computer networks, digital forensics, and/or security and risk. For the second position, the successful candidate may focus more on courses related to cybercrime, the human factor of cybercrime, and digital forensics. Individuals with expertise in both specialties will be considered for both positions. The successful candidates for both positions will also have the ability to develop new courses and will be able to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as teach in both on-campus and distance formats. The typical teaching load for faculty members who remain productive scholars is 3 courses per semester. Summer teaching opportunities are also possible for those who are interested.
