Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Fayetteville State University invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity to begin in January 2026. Responsibilities of the position include teaching courses for our recently established B.S. in Cybersecurity program, research, student mentoring, and university and community service. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a closely related field with at least 18 credit hours of computer science courses at graduate level, preferably with expertise in cybersecurity (ABD will be considered if award of Ph.D. degree can be expected before start of employment).
Fayetteville State University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina and the second oldest public institution of higher education in the state. Founded in 1867 as the Howard School for the education of African Americans, today FSU serves a growing student body of approximately 7,000 and ranks among the nation's most diverse campus communities. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Mathematics with approximately 600 majors.
