Description
The Department of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, seeks candidates for multiple Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure Clinician Educator track.
We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in the non-invasive diagnosis and surveillance of pigmented lesions. Skin cancer expertise, demonstrated through publications, invited lectures, or significant clinical experience, is strongly preferred. Demonstrated or potential leadership experience is also desirable. Applicants must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree, and be board certified or board eligible in Dermatology.
Responsibilities
Teaching
- Educate residents in dermatology and other specialties caring for skin cancer.
- Teach fellows in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology.
- Instruct medical students and visiting trainees from other institutions or countries.
- Play a key role in residency education on the cutaneous oncology track and in the mentorship of research fellows in cutaneous oncology.
Clinical
- Evaluate and treat patients with skin cancer, particularly those at high risk of recurrence or metastasis.
- Provide care within Penn Dermatology Oncology Center’s specialty clinics, including:
- Pigmented Lesion Clinic
- Rare and Inherited Skin Cancer Clinic
- High-Risk Skin Cancer Clinic for Organ Transplant Recipients and Immunosuppressed Patients
Research/Scholarship
- Conduct clinical research on the care of skin cancer patients at increased risk for recurrence or metastasis.
- Collaborate in translational research with physician scientists focused on skin cancer.
- Participate in clinical trials of new therapeutics for skin cancers.
- Contribute to collaborative research efforts across disciplines.
- Pursue scholarship with protected academic and administrative time, as required in the Clinician Educator track.
