We seek an individual who is (1) passionate about teaching both lower-division and upper-division education courses to prepare future educators, (2) committed to scholarship/research, and (3) invested in student success. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, the Department of Psychology & Education at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a tenure-track faculty position to begin August 18, 2026. The Department of Psychology & Education in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Special Education.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Education courses, including Special Education courses, observe student teachers, and evaluate pre-service teacher candidates. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 23-25 credit hours per year. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, conducting scholarship/research, and service including recruitment and collaborating with colleagues to support licensure and accreditation. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of current pedagogical theories and strategies for inclusive teaching and exceptional learners, and a genuine desire to prepare students for successful teaching careers. Candidates with experience teaching children with exceptionalities are encouraged to apply.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or a related discipline. Candidates with ABD will be considered if all degree requirements are completed before September 1, 2026. At least 3 years of K-12 teaching experience within the United States in the area of Special Education are required.
