Position Overview
The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering (ECBE) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the general area of Electric Energy and Power Systems.
The successful candidate will engage in:
- Teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, including curriculum development and student supervision.
- Establishing a strong, independent, externally funded research program in electric energy and power systems.
- Contributing to departmental, university, and professional service.
- Fostering an inclusive, equitable, and collegial academic environment.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by the start of appointment.
- Evidence of emerging scholarly research or creative activity through publications, grants, conference presentations, or professional contributions.
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels, supported by a teaching dossier (including philosophy, sample syllabi, evaluations, and/or awards).
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in teaching, research, and service.
- Ability and willingness to contribute to departmental and university life.
- Eligibility for, and commitment to acquiring, the P.Eng. license in Ontario.
Salary and Benefits
- Minimum salary for Assistant Professor: $103,916.30 per annum, commensurate with qualifications.
