Description
The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in Engineering in the Department of Engineering at Hofstra University.
The Department of Engineering has an opening for a faculty member with a background in one of the undergraduate degree programs offered at Hofstra: Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
The engineering programs at Hofstra are experiencing rapid growth, and the successful applicant will contribute to the department’s ability to offer a top-tier undergraduate educational experience to our students. Hence, candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, be able to initiate sustained research – especially of a type that can involve advanced undergraduates – and show initiative in seeking external funding for research. Qualifications
- PhD in Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
