Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology
Job Summary
We seek an individual who is (1) passionate about teaching both lower-division and upper-division undergraduate Exercise Physiology courses, (2) committed to scholarship that involves undergraduates and (3) invested in and high-impact learning and student success. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, the Department of Health & Exercise Professions in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a tenure-track faculty position to begin August 18, 2026. Review of applications will begin January 5, 2026 and continue until the position is filled.
Principle Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate Exercise Physiology courses in the CAAHEP Accredited Exercise Physiology program. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 23-25 credit hours per year. Responsibilities include classroom teaching, campus laboratory instruction, and clinical instruction. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, scholarship that involves undergraduate students, and service. Required Skills:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, as well as the interest and ability to mentor students both inside and outside the classroom. Candidates with experience teaching undergraduate Exercise Physiology courses and involvement in undergraduate research are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology or a related discipline is required. An ABD will be considered if all requirements are completed before September 1, 2026. Candidates with professional certifications (e.g. ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP or CSCS), clinical experience, or teaching experience in higher education are encouraged to apply.
