The successful candidate will be someone able to foster ties with colleagues working in other departments and with interdepartmental units and programs, such as the graduate certificates in Premodern Cultures and Communities, Digital Humanities, and Women, Gender and Sexuality; the Islamic Worlds Initiative; or the School of Data Science.
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate a rigorous scholarly research agenda and promise of a strong publication record. They must also have relevant skills and experience preparing them to be an outstanding graduate and undergraduate teacher and mentor, and to contribute to the goals of the University and the scholarly life of the Department of French. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester. Native or near-native fluency in French and English is required. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in the relevant field by the appointment start date of August 10, 2027.
