The German Studies Department at Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina, seeks applicants for tenure-track position at the assistant professor level who will work in the area of post-War through contemporary German Studies or of transnational or multilingual German culture.
Position is responsible for engaging in research and teaching German Studies classes, which include, but are not limited to:
- Introduction to Turkish German Literature and Cinema
- Science, Technology, and Art
- Fairy Tales from Grimms to Disney
- Vampires, Monsters, and Ghosts
Position is responsible for research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (2 per semester), advising of undergraduate and graduate students, and service to the profession such as committee memberships.
Job Requirements: PhD in German, Comparative Literature or related field
