Assistant Professor of Graduate Nursing
Job Summary
Serve as an Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Nursing – Entry (MSN-E) program in the College of Graduate Nursing. The faculty member will be expected to teach in the CGN programs, conduct scholarly and research activities in areas of expertise, provide institutional and community service, participate in College committees and activities, and maintain professional competency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expertise and knowledge of entry level nursing and advanced practice of nursing.
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate courses, lectures and seminars, and to evaluate student achievement.
- Knowledge of basic and advanced clinical skills required of nurses in multiple settings.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of clinical and didactic performance of students.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of health professionals that contribute to the clinical/didactic education of nursing students.
- Work effectively with colleagues, staff, and administration to advance the mission of the institution.
- Demonstrate basic computer literacy and skills in emerging teaching technologies. Willingness to remain flexible and adapt to the changing technological advancements associated with delivering curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Must possess a current and valid license as a nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Doctoral degree.
- Experience: Two years of teaching experience in nursing education.
