Assistant Professor of Instruction, College of Nursing
The College of Nursing (CN) at Xavier University is seeking an
experienced, innovative, and highly motivated candidate for a
full-time, nontenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor of
Instruction) to teach in our undergraduate and graduate nursing
programs. The CN programs include BSN, second-degree accelerated
MSN (MIDAS), MSN Education, Forensics, FNP, PMHNP, AGPCNP, and DNP
programs, as well as a variety of post-master’s certificates. The
successful candidate will teach across undergraduate and graduate
programs. Desired specialty areas include pediatrics and MSN core
courses. Candidates with expertise in more than one specialty area
are highly desirable. Candidates may teach in on-ground courses as
well as in our online MSN and/or DNP graduate programs, depending
on relevant academic preparation.
The successful candidate will actively participate in the
development and evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical
experiences, test construction, and assessment of students’
learning; establish effective coordinating relationships with
co-workers and clinical agencies; participate in nursing scholarly
work and professional development; participate in student academic
advising and guidance; and participate in appropriate program,
college, and university activities and committees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registered
nurse in Ohio or be eligible to be licensed and practice in
Ohio.
A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is required for
teaching in the graduate programs
At least 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
in a specialty area (pediatrics preferred).
At least 2 years of teaching experience in an accredited
program in a content-specialty area is preferred.
Teaching experience in online instruction is desired.
Knowledge of curriculum development, methods of teaching, and
evaluation are desired.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills and
have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative
team.
