Assistant Professor of Instruction, Field Coordinator (School of Education)
The School of Education at Xavier University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Instruction position serving as Field Coordinator, beginning Fall 2026.
The position involves two primary areas of responsibility: coordinating field placements, field experiences, and student teaching placements across licensure programs, and maintaining, strengthening, and developing school and district partnerships.
The position includes teaching 3-6 credits a semester in an area of expertise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate major field experiences and student teaching placements across licensure programs.
- Maintain placement documentation and ensure student readiness for field experiences.
- Develop and sustain school and district partnerships.
- Support licensure and accreditation processes connected to field experiences.
- Maintain communication among field-based stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support field supervisors.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for licensure-related pathways and prospective students.
- Support recruitment through partnership-building and program visibility.
- Teach course(s) aligned with expertise and program needs.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or related field
- Current teacher licensure required.
- Five or more years of successful teaching experience in K–12 education
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain school-university partnerships
- Knowledge of teacher preparation, licensure pathways, clinical practice, field placement expectations, and/or accreditation processes
- Excellent organizational, communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree in Education (Ed.D. or Ph.D.)
- Collegiate teaching experience
- Previous leadership, supervision, or coordination experience
- Excellent technology skills
- Ohio licensure or ability to obtain/transfer Ohio licensure
