"Assistant Professor of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum - Mathematics Education"

The Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma-Norman Campus is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor position in mathematics education. Candidates should be devoted to improving mathematics teaching and learning, well-grounded in current theories, committed to building a research agenda, and contribute to areas like elementary mathematics, STEM education, and mathematical literacy.

Responsibilities:

• Teach courses in mathematics education and related undergraduate and graduate level courses each semester, with summer opportunities.
• Advise and mentor graduate students, direct master's theses, and potentially doctoral dissertations.
• Assist in program coordination, mentor part-time instructors, and develop a productive research agenda.
• Seek external funding for research, teaching, and service activities.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
• Maintain and develop relationships with centers, other colleges, departments, and local PK-12 school districts.

Qualifications:

• Required: Earned doctorate by start date in mathematics education or related field; at least three years' teaching experience in PK-12 mathematics; demonstrated research and scholarly contributions; content expertise in mathematics.
• Desired: Eligibility for state licensure; experience in teaching mathematics education courses; ability to integrate technology; experience in obtaining funding; advising/mentoring students; providing professional services.
