Assistant Professor of Interpretation

The College of Natural Resources (CNR) has a full-time, tenure track, nine-month academic year teaching (100%) position available in the Environment and Society Discipline. The successful applicant will continue to build and lead the natural/cultural history interpretation portion of an undergraduate environmental education and interpretation program (EE/I) that is accredited through the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE). Teaching responsibilities within the EE/I and Wildlife Education programs include courses in oral interpretation methods, interpretive media and a capstone environmental interpretation practicum at Schmeeckle Reserve, a CNR field station. Additional teaching responsibilities may include lecture or discussion for introductory natural resources courses; cross-discipline courses on social science research methods, organizational leadership, outdoor recreation programming, or public relations and communication; and online courses for students enrolled in the Master of Natural Resources degree program. Other duties include undergraduate and graduate student advising, and participation on University and College committees. Opportunities exist for involvement in research, outreach and international programs to meet University scholarship and service requirements. A desire to work with diverse populations of learners and stakeholders is expected.
