Assistant Professor of Law
Assistant Professor of Law with Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN)
Engage in teaching, scholarship and service. Teach a standard course load of three courses totaling nine hours in courses in areas of expertise; specifically, international economic law, which includes a survey course for lawyers preparing to practice international trade and international investment law, as well as U.S. trade laws and a seminar on the historical foundations of public international law. Prepare materials for courses, lecture the classes, and meet with and advise students on their work and career prospects and grade assignments. Research and write in the area of international economic law; specifically, study the historical foundations of the post-World War II international economic order, especially the Bretton Woods institutions and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. Write scholarly articles for law reviews. Work on preparation of a book manuscript drawn out of doctoral dissertation that critically traces the history over two centuries of the idea that international trade bears a positive relationship with international peace. Serve on the law school faculty committees as appointed by the Dean.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Juris Doctor in Economic Law, International Law, or closely related field. Position requires 1 year of experience. Must have experience teaching legal studies.
