Assistant Professor of Management, Operations/ Supply Chain

The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management with expertise in operations or supply chain management, beginning August 2026. Rooted in Berry's mission of educating the head, heart, and hands, we seek a teacher-mentor-scholar who is passionate about engaging students from diverse majors in the study of operations and supply chain systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative, inclusive teaching and impactful scholarship, along with enthusiasm for continuous improvement and student mentoring as they apply their learning in real-world contexts.

The AACSB-Accredited Campbell School of Business is known for its close-knit community of faculty, staff, and students, its emphasis on experiential learning, and its integration of business education with Berry's broader mission. Faculty benefit from small class sizes that allow creativity and deep student engagement, a collaborative teaching environment, and opportunities to mentor students through research, internships, and Berry's LifeWorks program. Our location in Rome, Georgia, places us in proximity to major manufacturing and logistics firms, offering rich opportunities for industry engagement and applied learning. Major global manufacturing facilities nearby include Pirelli, Suzuki, Anheuser-Busch, Gerdau Steel, Ball Container, several automotive suppliers, and 150 carpet mills. Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is 90 minutes away, making travel connections easy.

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and MBA courses in operations management, as well as business statistics and quantitative analysis. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester. The successful candidate will also maintain an active research agenda with publications in peer-reviewed journals, and the inclusion of students in advancing that research agenda is both supported and encouraged.

Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in operations management, supply chain management, or a closely related field, and candidates who are currently ABD should earn the Ph.D. by the date of employment.
