Job Description:
The Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business and Economics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management (F0069) with a specialization in Supply Chain Management (SCM) to begin in August 2026.
The AACSB-accredited College offers a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration with seven concentrations, including Management, as well as a fully online MBA program.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research related to Supply Chain Management and its subfields. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to the College's mission through high-quality teaching, scholarly research aligned with AACSB expectations, and service to the department, college, university, and community.
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University’s campus.
Requirements:
- DBA or Ph.D. in Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field is required. Candidates who are ABD may also be considered with a confirmed final dissertation defense and Ph.D. degree attainment date by August 2026.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain a program of research output sufficient to meet AACSB scholarly academic (SA) status requirements.
- Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability and flexibility to teach courses in supply chain management and other areas of management as needed.
- A strong commitment to high-quality, student-centered instruction; an interest in active and collaborative learning and the effective use of instructional technology; and enthusiasm for contributing to a multidisciplinary and collegial academic environment are preferred.
- Evidence of the ability and commitment to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, and community members in support of the university's mission is also preferred.
Additional Information:
This position is a full-time, tenure-track instructional faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
