Position Details
The Department of Nursing in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. APRN license and ANNC or AANPCB certification as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
The department is interested in nurse practitioner faculty candidates who have an interest in teaching adult/older adult healthcare management, advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, and health assessment, EBP practice, health care prevention and promotion. Experience in teaching and curriculum development in MSN/DNP programs desired.
The successful candidate is expected to have a commitment to classroom and clinical teaching. Opportunity in teaching across all programs (BSN, MSN AGNP-PC and FNP programs and post-masters DNP) is available. Position also includes student advising, scholarly activity, service and clinical practice within the environment of a liberal arts institution. A typical teaching load is 12 credit hours in a 14-week semester. Nursing faculty have one-day week scheduled for clinical practice if desired.
Qualifications
- An MSN and doctoral degree (PhD, EdD or DNP) in nursing required.
- National certification as AGNP-PC or FNP is required.
- Florida APRN licensure required.
- Evidence of teaching experience in an academic setting is required.
- Two (2) years or more of clinical practice required
