Assistant Professor of Nursing/FNP
The Assistant Professor of Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner is a 12-month, fulltime faculty position supervised by the Dean of the Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences (ABESNHS). The incumbent is responsible for meeting Florida Southern College defined expectations for all faculty in the areas of teaching, service, and scholarship as delineated in the Florida Southern College Faculty Handbook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Providing both didactic and clinical instruction in the MSN program and other programs as needed to meet the needs of the ABESNHS and Florida Southern College
- Maintaining positive relationships and actively collaborate with major clinical and community organizations serving the MSN program
- Demonstrating collaboration, collegiality, and support for program excellence
- Providing advising and mentoring for students to advance student success
- Engaging in research and/or scholarly activities
- Engage in professional and community service
- Contributing to ongoing curriculum and program improvements
- Participating in the review and selection of prospective students to the MSN Program
- Participating in faculty governance through service on Program, School, and College committees
- Contributes to the success of the department by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the College.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure.
- Experience in the nurse practitioner role.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level.
- Additional national certifications and academic program leadership experience may also be considered in candidate selection.
