Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at CUMC (Newborn Nursery)
THE OPPORTUNITY/POSITION DESCRIPTION
This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide timely and high-quality care to healthy newborns in the busy well-baby nursery, located at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
- Process admissions to unit and monitor newborns.
- Perform procedures as necessary.
- Coordinate discharges to home with ob/gyn units.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License.
- Must be Board certification in Pediatrics.
- Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines.
- The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other’s contributions and the ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
