Hours: Full-time (as per Public Service Agreements)

Salary: €42,925 – €102,556 per annum (Assistant Professor Salary Scale, commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research in Value Theory, broadly including:
  • Normative Ethics, Applied Ethics, Meta-Ethics
  • Aesthetics, Philosophy of Art
  • Normative Epistemology
  • Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law
  • Additional teaching expertise in Non-Western Philosophy or Feminist Philosophy is strongly desirable
  • Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Contribute to curriculum design and interdisciplinary teaching
  • Participate in departmental administration, governance, and quality assurance
  • Engage in academic leadership within the Department and School

Candidate Profile / Requirements

  • Established or emerging research excellence in Value Theory
  • Ability to teach across a range of philosophical topics
  • Strong potential for continued scholarly contribution
  • Vision, enthusiasm, and commitment to both research and teaching excellence
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Willingness to deliver a presentation as part of the interview process
