Position Highlights
The Graduate College is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Practice (Career Track) with a focus on developing, implementing, and assessing our student experience strategy for Main Campus graduate students. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Success, this individual will develop and implement a vision, strategy, and plan for enhancing the success of graduate students across the graduate education lifecycle. The position includes program development and administration, one-on-one student mentoring, grant development, and teaching small groups and credit classes that promote graduate student success.
The position is a fiscal year (12-month), career-track faculty appointment (non-tenure eligible) with opportunity for promotion and professional development. The major duties and responsibilities are listed below, and other duties may be assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities
Program Development, Facilitation, and Assessment (80%)
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for graduate student success aligned with the Graduate College's strategic priorities.
- Research, develop, implement, and evaluate student success programming for Certificate, Master's, and Doctoral Students. Advise Graduate College management on progress, make recommendations for improvements, and implement solutions.
- Conduct needs assessments, create reports to guide student success programming, and lead grant submissions on national trends and innovative programming.
- Create tailored programming or collaborative workshops that respond to specific student populations (e.g., first-generation, STEM) or training grant needs.
- Develop and teach core student success workshops (e.g., mentoring, wellness, belonging), seminars, and for-credit experiences that bolster student success and retention.
- Explore new resources, training opportunities, and institutional best practices and benchmarking in service delivery models for graduate student success.
- Design and implement student experience initiatives that promote belonging and community of main campus graduate students. Monitor the success of these student experience initiatives through programming metrics collected and analysis of timely progression through milestones.
- Facilitate student peer mentoring sessions and conduct mentor training for graduate students to mentor other students (graduate and undergraduate). Collaborate with the Office of Faculty Affairs on training and initiatives for graduate students and faculty mentors.
- Monitor national trends for best practices and strategies to improve student retention through new resources and training opportunities that promote student success.
Outreach to Campus Faculty, Staff, Students and Stakeholders (20%)
- Design and implement an integrated strategy for student support and retention for utilization during onboarding of new directors of graduate studies and graduate program coordinators.
- Develop campus-wide outreach to colleges and graduate program faculty and staff that mentor graduate students on best practices for student success.
- Create new and enhance existing relationships with campus partners to identify collaborative opportunities and improve graduate student success.
- Develop resources and strategies for effective communication with graduate faculty and staff and build consensus when new initiatives are implemented.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in any discipline.
- Experience in student success initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in any discipline.
- Demonstrated teaching and curriculum design experience in higher education.
- Experience in collaborative program management experience.
