The Cameron School of Business, UNCW, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice position in International Management. This is a professional faculty role, initially offered as a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal indefinitely for longer contract periods.

The successful candidate will be a creative, innovative, and effective teacher capable of contributing to the school's undergraduate level and/or master's level programs in the Management area.

The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate level courses in international management with crossover to other areas of management including organizational behavior and human resources, conducting scholarly activities sufficient to maintain professional qualification, which may include active portfolio of professional engagement activities, quality peer-reviewed publications, student advising, and collegial service to advance the mission of the department, school, and university. This position is expected to teach seven courses (21 credit hours) per academic year and produce at least one publication over each 5 years employed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Ph.D., DBA, or an equivalent terminal degree in Management or a closely related discipline from a nationally accredited institution.
  • In exceptional circumstances, a combination of advanced graduate education, relevant certifications or licensure, and significant experience at the highest levels of professional practice may be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Evidence of successful teaching at the university level (undergrad and/or graduate in international management with crossover in other HR/OB, management, and/or related areas, and professional experience in applied areas of international management or related field
  • Proven excellence in teaching as well as success in applied scholarship, consulting, and/or professional/quality peer-reviewed research.
  • Significant professional leadership experience in corporate, nonprofit, entrepreneurial, and/or global organizations.
  • Experience teaching across multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, online) and in mentoring students.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage the business community, build partnerships, and integrate practice into the classroom.
  • Demonstrated collegiality and collaborative mindset.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit: Business education within the AACSB-accredited Cameron School of Business (CSB) is focused on the technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills students will need to lead this fundamental change in the business world through the 21st century. The CSB's Department of Management serves over 500 undergraduate majors and offers concentrations in Entrepreneurship & Business Development, Human Resource Management, Management & Leadership, and International Business. Faculty also teach in the Executive MBA, Online MBA, International MBA (IMBA), and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate programs. Faculty engage in impactful research, high-quality teaching, and community engagement that support the university's mission as a public institution serving southeastern North Carolina and beyond.
