The Department of Kinesiology at Mississippi State University is seeking applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Practice starting August 2026. Evaluation of applications is ongoing and will continue until the position is filled.
Department Profile
The department of Kinesiology is housed within the College of Education and has over 20 faculty serving approximately 1,100 graduate and undergraduate students. In August 2025, the department moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility with over 16,000 square feet of research space, classrooms, and offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- High commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate, and potentially graduate, level
- Service to the department, university, profession, and community
- Counsel students on career direction
- Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Kinesiology or related discipline
- Five years of clinical practice at the post-graduate level
- Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- The preferred candidate must be able to teach anatomical kinesiology, applied anatomy and pathophysiology, medical terminology, and other relevant courses.
- Five to ten years of professional practice in the field
- Undergraduate teaching experience, both face-to-face and online
- Clinical experience in a variety of settings
- Experience with course and program development
