About the Role
The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is entering an exciting new phase with the introduction of Psychology as a disciplinary area. As part of this strategic expansion, UNNC will launch its MSc Psychology (Applied) programme in September 2026—the University’s first dedicated Psychology offering.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Professor in Psychology to join the School of Education and English. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of teaching and research in Psychology, supporting the growth of this new academic programme.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the Psychology curriculum
- Contribute to curriculum design and programme development as the Psychology provision expands
- Supervise MSc and PhD students
- Maintain an active and developing research agenda, leading to peer-reviewed publications
- Engage in applied research, including partnerships with external organisations
- Contribute to administrative duties, student recruitment, and academic representation of the School
- Engage in science communication and public engagement to enhance societal impact
Research Profile
We particularly welcome applicants with research expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Cognitive Psychology
- Human–Technology Interaction
- Health, Clinical, or Counselling Psychology
Experience in the following would be highly desirable:
- Modern neuroscience methods (e.g. EEG, fMRI, psychophysiology)
- Design and evaluation of digital health assessments and interventions
- Applied research in real-world or clinical settings
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- A PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline
- At least two years of teaching and research experience in higher education
- Evidence of a developing publication record
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and international environment

Salary and Benefits
Annual Salary:
RMB 450,190 – 592,815, depending on skills and experience
