Assistant Professor of Psychology - Quantitative Psychology (Tenure Track)
As part of a multi-year strategic hiring and growth initiative in Applied Psychological Science, the Department of Psychology at The University of Oklahoma is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Quantitative Psychology with a focus on Health Outcomes. This position aligns with the strategic plans in Psychology and in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships (https://www.ou.edu/research-norman).
The Psychology department offers the PhD in Cognitive, Industrial/Organizational, Applied Social and Developmental, and Quantitative Psychology (Norman campus), and an MA in Organizational Dynamics (Tulsa campus). Additionally, some faculty members also work in a multidisciplinary degree program in cellular and behavioral neurobiology.
For the tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Quantitative Psychology, the department seeks an emerging scholar with a promising research program in cutting-edge data analytics or computational modeling, particularly as applied to health and well-being. We are looking for a candidate whose research will complement and extend our department's strengths in (intensive) Longitudinal Modeling, Dynamic Modeling, Psychometrics, and Structural Equation Modeling. A commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential for developing an externally funded research program, a commitment to excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Quantitative Methods, and a dedication to mentoring students from varied backgrounds. A Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date (August 16, 2026). Teaching load of 2:2.
Qualifications:
Required: A Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrated interests or potential for developing external funding, with a focus on cutting-edge data analytics or computational modeling, particularly as applied to health and well-being.
Preferred: Ability to contribute to the Quantitative course offerings of the department at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A record of research on cutting-edge data analytics, such as (intensive) longitudinal modeling, dynamic modeling, psychometrics, and structural equation modeling. Capable of participating in research utilizing multidisciplinary collaboration.
