Department: Dept of Security Studies General Requirements: The position will be on-site and most or all of the instruction will be online. Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties: The Department is particularly interested in applications from scholars with expertise in any subfields or areas of specialization within homeland security studies. Other Specifications/Instructions for the Position: To ensure full consideration, applications should include a letter of interest, a current vita, statement of teaching philosophy, statement of research & goals, unofficial transcripts and three letters of recommendation addressed to: Nathan Jones; Chair, Search Committee, Review of materials will begin September 15, 2026, and will continue until the search is completed. Educational Requirements for the Position (Faculty Positions Only): Successful applicants will have completed a PhD (other types of doctoral degrees will not be accepted) in a field of study that has prepared them to achieve excellence in university-level teaching and scholarship in one or more areas within the Homeland Security Enterprise. This can include, but is not limited to, the disciplines of homeland security studies, political science, or public policy. Experience Required for the Position (Faculty Positions Only): Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the potential to meet the traditional rigor of tenure-track academic work (teaching, scholarship, and university service).
