Position Description
The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto invites applications for one full-time tenure-stream position in Community and Organizational Social Work Practice. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum and research related to communities and organizations. This may include research and teaching focused on:
- Human services management and leadership
- Community organizing and development
- Public policy advocacy
- Organizational and program development
- Social work with marginalized communities
- Other domains focused on organizations and communities
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Social Work or a related discipline by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
- Ability to pursue innovative and independent research, establishing a competitive, externally funded research program.
- Evidence of research excellence through:
- Ability to attract external funding
- Peer-reviewed publications or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards
- Conference presentations, awards, and accolades
- Strong endorsements from referees of high standing
- Evidence of teaching excellence through a teaching dossier and strong letters of reference.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
