Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
The College of Science Engineering and Technology at Texas Southern University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Unmanned Aerial Systems, who is competent in instructing students with an active research agenda. The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (Ph.D.) with an emphasis in Aviation, Drone Technology or Aeronautical Engineering from a regionally accredited university, with a supplemental field in Aviation Management or Drone Technology. This is a 9-month tenure track position with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Essential Duties Summary
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Unmanned Aerial Systems
- Conduct research that is presentable at professional academic conferences and acceptable for publication in referred academic journals
- Active participation in departmental, school and university committees
- Service to one’s profession and the surrounding community
- Advise and mentor students
- Other job-related duties as assigned
% FTE 1.0
Hiring Range $69,808.00 - $90,750.00
Education Ph.D. in Aviation, Drone Technology or Aeronautical Engineering from a regionally accredited university at time of hire. Supplemental field in Unmanned Aerial Systems/ UAV or Aeronautical Engineering.
Required Licensing/Certification FAA Part 107 License (required).
