The Dean of the Faculty of Sports Studies at Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the following academic post: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the field of sports management at the Department of Sports Performance and Diagnostics
The Faculty of Sports Studies at Masaryk University is a dynamic faculty located in modern premises on the University Campus in Brno-Bohunice. Our mission is to contribute, through the education of our students, our research activities and our engagement with society, to a physically active and healthy lifestyle for all age and performance groups within the population, to the advancement of knowledge in the field of sport, and to the upholding of the principles of fair play in sport and in everyday life.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced professional in sports management to join our academic team in the Department of Sports Performance and Diagnostics, with the ability to connect scientific research and teaching activities to the current needs of sports practice. We are looking for someone who wishes to contribute to the discipline's development, participate in research and project activities, and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the current needs of sports practice.
Job description
- developing professional and research activities in the field of sports management, particularly in relation to elite and competitive sport,
- active publishing and involvement in the planning and execution of research and professional projects,
- teaching modules focused primarily on sports management, sports marketing and managerial competencies,
- supervising and examining final-year dissertations,
- developing and innovating the curriculum
- the development and innovation of course modules and contributing to the development of degree programmes,
- collaboration with sports federations, professional clubs and other sports organisations,
- linking science, research, education and the current needs of sports practice,
- contributing to the professional and strategic development of the department.
What we expect from you
- a completed PhD in sports management, economics or a related field,
- habilitation in accordance with Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, as amended (only for the position of associate professor),
- demonstrable professional or managerial experience in the field of sport and experience within the elite or competitive sport environment,
- experience in teaching and supervising final theses,
- the ability to teach and communicate professionally in both Czech and English,
- the ability to collaborate within an academic team and contribute to the development of the department,
- motivation and the potential for further professional and pedagogical development in the field of sports management,
- information regarding the candidate's other employment relationships within the meaning of Section 70 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, as amended.
Desirable qualities
- experience in leading research or specialist teams and projects,
- experience in international academic collaboration,
- experience in using modern and digital forms of teaching.
