Offer Description
The Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków invites applications for the position of Assistant professor (Postdoc) in the Department of Criminal Law as part of the ERC-funded project ROBOCRIM - Philosophical Foundations of Criminal Law in the Age of Robots. The project explores how criminal law should evolve in response to the increasing role of robots in society, focusing on their legal status, moral responsibility, and the adequacy of existing legal frameworks.

Skills/Qualifications
The selection procedure is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.3) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 165 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:
- holding at least a doctoral degree;
- having relevant scientific achievements;
- taking active part in scientific life.
Specific Requirements
- holding a PhD in philosophy, law, psychology or related disciplines;
- documented experience in experimental philosophy and/or experimental jurisprudence;
- publications in leading academic journals in the fields of law, philosophy, ethics, psychology or related disciplines;
- research interests relevant to the project topic, in particular in the field of criminal law philosophy, technology ethics, artificial intelligence, legal liability, experimental philosophy or experimental jurisprudence;
- very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, minimum level B2, enabling the use of scientific literature and contact with research partners;
- experience in scientific or project work, e.g. participation in grants, publications, research collaboration, confirmed by achievements or certificates.

Eligibility criteria
The first stage of the selection procedure is the formal assessment of the submitted documents. Applications which meet all formal requirements are the subject of substantive assessment, during which an interview with the Candidate (F/M) may be conducted (directly or via electronic communication channels), upon settling the date of the interview with the Candidate (F/M). During the interview, the soft competencies indicated in the announcement will also be verified. The Candidate (F/M) has the right to appeal against the negative assessment by the selection board within 7 days from receiving the information about the results of the assessment.
