Assistant Professor - Preclinical General Dentist

Job Summary

Supervise dental students in educational activities at WesternU College of Dental Medicine according to standards of the College of Dental Medicine (CDM) with a primary role in CDM pre-clinical education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Recognized knowledge and experience in a broad range of general dentistry diagnostic and treatment services.
• Ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups, both in writing and orally.
• Ability to interact in an effective and positive manner with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including administration, faculty, residents and/or students, staff, patients, and outside contacts.
• Ability to effectively conduct detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in an academic environment.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or equivalent.
• Licensure: Active California dental license or be qualified to obtain licensure or faculty special permit in California.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a residency program in General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical practice experience. Experience in supervising students and/or residents in a preclinical and/or clinical academic setting.

Classification Pay Scale

Expected Pay Scale: Minimum: $76,000.00 Annually, Maximum: $81,000.00 Annually.
