Job Description:
The Department of Psychological Science, within the School of Health and Natural Sciences, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Psychology, with an open area of specialization. The position is at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2026. Applicants must possess a commitment to education justice and an enthusiasm for working with a diverse student body.
Responsibilities include a teaching load of 4/4 per semester, student advising, continuing scholarship and service to the University community, with additional requirements as per the MSCA contract. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, especially traditionally underrepresented and first-generation students, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity.
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Psychology.
- Ability to teach courses in our core curriculum including Intro to Psychological Science and Research Methods and Statistics as well as upper-level courses in an area of expertise.
- Engagement in an active research program that could involve undergraduate students.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body and a commitment to education justice.
- Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, especially traditionally underrepresented and first-generation students, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity.
Additional Information:
Full-time, Tenure Track, 9 month benefited position, beginning September 1, 2026.
Salary commensurate with qualifications, experience and in accordance with the MSCA Bargaining Agreement. There are opportunities to teach summer, winter term, online, and undergraduate and graduate courses.
The successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board/Sexual Offender Registry Information (CORI/SORI) as well as a completed background check satisfactory to the university.
