Teach public relations and strategic communication to both undergraduate and graduate students. This includes everything from the intro class through a graduate capstone.

Essential Job Functions

Teaching.
Service.
Research / Creative Activity.
Administrative Duty.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD or other terminal degree in Communication, Public Relations, Strategic Communication, or related field.
We will consider candidates who are ABD as long as they are scheduled for completion by September 1, 2026.
Skilled teacher.
Evidence of research/creative activity production.
Work well with others in service situations.

Desired Qualifications:

1-5 years as a public relations professional/communication manager/strategic communication professional.
Familiarity with PRSSA. APR (accreditation in public relations.
Well-versed in crisis communication.
Adaptability.
Familiarity with appropriate computer programs and platforms.

Key Competencies

Familiarity with public relations and strategic communication professions.
Strong pedagogy skills.
Research skills.
Strong writing skills.
Mentorship.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move around campus, lift up to 25 lbs.

Job Conditions

Classroom teaching, online teaching, and office work.
