Assistant Professor - Risk Management and Insurance
Position Overview
We are seeking candidates for a faculty position in Risk Management and Insurance to join us beginning in August 2026. We are particularly interested in candidates whose preferred areas of teaching include Risk Management, Insurance and Enterprise Risk Management. We will welcome applications for candidates seeking the position as a lecturer (minimum of a master’s degree) or as a tenure track (minimum of a Ph.D.). The decision will be made based on the appropriate skill set and experience.
For candidates applying as a tenure track, we are seeking those who can demonstrate a trajectory of scholarship in their areas of specialization and possess the potential and motivation to publish high-quality, impactful research in leading academic journals. Tenure track candidates should have active research programs, enjoy working closely with students, and be fine teachers. Beyond that, they should share our conviction that research can be practical, that it can flow across disciplinary lines, and that it should be accomplished without sacrificing student interests in the process.
Successful candidates will be committed to student learning and excited about teaching in an integrated, experiential curriculum. In addition to the normal academic duties (i.e., excellent teaching, publishable scholarly research, and university/college service), involvement in professional activities, helping with the student-run Captive Insurance Company and partnering with the business community are necessary parts of the position. Compensation and support are competitive.
Fully accredited by AACSB-International, the Lacy School of Business enrolls approximately 1,300 full-time undergraduates and over 250 part-time MBA students. We seek a colleague who will take maximum advantage of our mission by developing his/her skills in experiential education, integrating across the functional areas of business, and engaging with businesses to improve students’ learning experience.

Applicants should submit the following:
- Cover Letter (indicating whether you are applying for the tenure track or lecturer position)
