TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN SOCIAL WORK
The Department of Social Work in the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for Assistant Professor.
NUS is a leading university in Asia. It was 8th globally and 1st in Asia in the QS World University Rankings 2025. Social Work is one of the oldest Departments in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), which hosts 16 Departments covering a wide range of academic programmes in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Asian Studies and Language Studies. In this multi-disciplinary setting in Singapore’s flagship university, the Department of Social Work offers ample opportunities for cutting-edge curriculum and research initiatives on contemporary social work and social development. It produces graduates who rise to be leaders in social services and social policy.
We seek beginning or early career faculty members who are emerging experts in one or some of the following areas: health and mental health, technology and social services, poverty and inequality, social policy, social service management and leadership. We are keen to attract scholars in these areas who can contribute to outstanding research, practice frameworks and policies relevant to Singapore and the Asian region.
Qualification
Applications for the position must:I. Have a PhD in Social Work or a related field with social work degree from earlier training;ii. Have strong research and publications;iii. Demonstrate an ability to teach social work courses, as well as contribute to research and scholarship; andiv. We value collegiality and collaboration. Successful candidates are expected to contribute positively to a team-oriented academic environment, engaging constructively with colleagues, students, and community partners.
