The Department of Social Work at the University of West Florida (UWF), in Pensacola, Florida, seeks a dynamic professional to join its faculty for a 9-month Assistant Professor (tenure-earning) position starting August 8, 2026. The department offers a Masters in Social Work (MSW) focused on clinical practice and a Bachelors in Social Work (BSW) degree. The candidate will teach across BSW and MSW curricula with emphasis on graduate courses. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Teaching courses at graduate and undergraduate levels (three three-hour courses per fall and spring semester).
• Engaging in scholarly activities and publishing research.
• Participating in doctoral dissertation committees.
• Active involvement in curriculum development and department activities.
• Working with municipal and regional service organizations.
• Providing service to the department, college, university, and profession.

Minimum requirements:

• Ph.D. in Social Work or a Masters in Social Work with a doctoral degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong commitment to teaching, research, and service.
• Ability to teach at both levels.
• In-person position requiring campus presence.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in high-quality teaching.
• Experience teaching graduate clinical courses.
• Commitment to mentoring students and guiding research.
• Commitment to grantsmanship.
