Assistant Professor

The School of Nursing at Cape Breton University (CBU) invite applications for 5 tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. These positions will commence Aug 1st, 2026 (or soon thereafter).

Successful candidates will have an undergraduate/graduate degree in nursing (i.e., BScN, MN); a completed PhD or other Doctoral degree in a health-related field (preferred) or education; Master’s prepared applicants with a willingness to complete a Doctoral degree in progress will be considered; a minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse; an active practicing unrestricted RN license with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (or be eligible for) prior to commencement of this position; demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students; a commitment to nursing scholarship and research; experience in theory-based classroom teaching.

In addition to teaching and research, the successful candidates may be required to participate in nursing practice with groups of students in various practice settings, simulation and/or labs.
