Assistant Professor (Teaching Focused) (Community Lead)
About the Role
The graduate-entry MBChB programme at Warwick Medical School (WMS) is the largest in the UK, attracting graduates from both science and non-science backgrounds. Its modern medical programme is delivered by a dynamic and forward-thinking team of academics and clinicians.
Early patient exposure is recognised as being critical to the developing professionalism of medical students. Within the MBChB programme the first face to face student experience of meeting patients takes place in the first year of the course in community settings, facilitated by community-based allied healthcare professionals from local NHS trusts. In year 2 our community provision includes palliative care teaching and engaging with under-served communities.
Please note that Skilled Worker visa sponsorship will only be possible in specific circumstances due to the 0.7 FTE salary.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity for an allied healthcare professional (current or past) with experience of community working to join our award winning MBChB Team as Lead for Community Education (current professional registration is not required).
The role is 0.7 FTE at Assistant Professor level and applicants will need to be educated to first degree level and have experience of designing and delivering educational interventions. The successful candidate will work alongside the GP Team and will be fully supported in this varied role involving some teaching, liaising with NHS trusts and community groups and facilitating community learning.
