Assistant Professor - Teaching & Learning
The College of Education is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position for the Teaching & Learning department with a focus on Educational Psychology. The teaching assignment will include educational psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and courses in closely related areas. There is the possibility of teaching both on-line and on ground courses. Position is scheduled to begin August, 2026.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the institution and related academic units.
- Teaching load of four (4) undergraduate courses each semester. Possible opportunities to teach in the graduate program.
- Conduct academic research resulting in publications and presentations of scholarly work in an academic forum.
- Service on committees at the university and college level is expected, as well as relevant community service work is required.
- Teaching assignments related to the field of Educational Psychology courses, such as educational psychology, assessment, instructional design, and research methods.

- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the University, College and Department.
- Be willing to teach at times, places, and modalities necessary to meet student needs.
- Be willing to adopt innovative teaching methods and delivery as appropriate.
- Possess the knowledge, talents, and skills in the discipline to promote effective teaching.
- Demonstrate respect for the unique learning needs of students.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement curriculum objectives and content for courses offered and taught in one's curriculum area.
- Demand and maintain high standards and expectations for all students.
- Implement teaching activities and a diversity of teaching techniques, procedures, and resources including application of technology.
- Develop and implement evaluation and assessment techniques that are appropriate for each course.
- Be available, knowledgeable, and demonstrate proficiency in the practice of academic advisement of students.
- Serve effectively on committees and other appropriate functions that assist in University governance.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or EdD. in Educational Psychology or closely related field.
- A minimum of (3) years of teaching in the K 12 setting.
- Documented evidence of sustained high quality professional productivity and national recognition in the academic discipline or sustained high quality professional productivity in the academic discipline that is consonant with the goals of the University and of the academic unit to which the faculty member belongs.
- Documented evidence of teaching excellence and contribution to student development and scholarly/creative achievement that will contribute to the positive scholarly record for advancement to the rank of associate professor.
- Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity, and a high degree of academic maturity and responsibility as evidenced by superior recommendations and past service records and/or job performance.
- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
