The Sprott School of Business invites applications from qualified candidates for two term appointments in the Online Master of Business Administration (OMBA) program at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream beginning November 1, 2026 (preferred), for up to three years, renewable yearly at the discretion of the School.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver online graduate courses to a culturally diverse student body, with teaching responsibilities focused on fully online learning environments. The successful candidate will also provide academic oversight and subject matter leadership for curriculum and course content within their area, and participate actively in the ongoing development, administration, student support, and academic life activities of the School, including on-campus participation in meetings and events as applicable. Even though the teaching responsibilities are remote, the candidate is expected to attend campus regularly.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
- Hold, or be near completion of, a PhD in business, or equivalent. Candidates holding a business-related master’s degree, combined with significant online teaching and professional work experience, may be considered.
- Demonstrate teaching excellence or strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions, particularly in the development and delivery of fully online (synchronous and asynchronous) graduate courses.
- Show evidence of, or strong potential for, meaningful service contributions, including committee work, curriculum development, student support, and participation in the academic life of the Unit.
- Demonstrate experience and/or potential in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the discipline and across the university community.
The following are considered assets:
- Experience teaching and developing courses at the post-secondary level in fully online, synchronous and/or asynchronous environments.
- Several years of scholarly or professional experience in business analytics or related areas, including experience with tools and platforms for data preparation, analysis, visualization, and automation.
- Several years of scholarly or professional experience in management, leadership or human resource management.
