Department Information
The Georgia College Department of Theatre and Dance prepares students for careers in the professional and educational aspects of the field by providing students with a personal, hands-on experience. Students are challenged through courses and productions that emphasize imagination, discipline, collaboration, and social awareness.
The department also has a strong focus on engaging the community with the arts. Each season we bring a variety of performances to the stage to evoke emotion, create laughter, and inspire a deeper understanding of the human experience.
Job Summary
The College of Arts & Sciences seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor to teach courses in Theatre Appreciation and special topics courses based expertise at the undergraduate level. Applications from all areas of specialization are encouraged. This faculty position, based in the Department of Theatre and Dance, is a 10-month academic year position beginning August 1, 2026.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Terminal degree in a closely related field.
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements as stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials)).
Required Experience
Some teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Instructor of record for college level classes in the related discipline.
Record of scholarly activity, publications, or creative works.
