Assistant Professor - Theology/Liturgical (Tenure-Track)
The Theology Department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Liturgical Theology position at its campuses located in Collegeville, MN and Saint Joseph, MN.
This position is based out of Saint John's University but will require that the candidate work on both campuses.

This role specializes in liturgy and its relationship with a secondary locus of theology. Includes teaching liturgy and liturgical theology with expertise in the Roman Catholic sacramental and liturgical traditions while engaging those of other churches as appropriate for a globally diverse and ecumenical student body. In addition to liturgy, this position may teach theologies engaging in justice, inclusion, contextual perspectives, pastoral practice, and/or spirituality that support the graduate and undergraduate missions at Saint John's University.
Salary ranges from $51,650 to $64,143, commensurate with experience, and standard company benefits including medical and life insurance, 401(k), disability, professional development opportunities, and PTO.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Theology, with specific coursework in Sacramental Theology and Global Catholicism.
- Must have two years of experience teaching theology to both graduate and undergraduate students.
- Position may also require teaching courses at the College of Saint Benedict in Saint Joseph, Minnesota, the sister institution of Saint John's University.
Specifically, the role is responsible for teaching 2-4 graduate courses in sacramental theology and liturgical studies and 2 introductory undergraduate theology courses; executing liturgical programming for local and national audiences; and engaging in advising and service to help advance missional goals and institutional priorities.
