Assistant Professor (WOT), Nephrology, HMC
The University of Washington’s (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position. This position would be at the rank of Assistant Professor, without tenure due to reasons of funding (WOT). Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The anticipated start date would be May 2026.
University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching, and service. This faculty position would be expected to develop a research program in the areas of kidney imaging and tubular secretion, attend on the in- and outpatient clinical nephrology services, teach fellows at the bedside, and participate in divisional events.
This position will attend on the inpatient nephrology consult service at Harborview Medical Center and see outpatients in clinic at UWMC Montlake or UWMC Northwest or in dialysis units in the greater Seattle area at the discretion of the Division Head. The number of weekend calls will be determined by the Division Head.
Successful candidates will be expected to deliver outstanding clinical care and excellent bedside teaching and to develop independent scholarship within nephrology.
The base salary range for this position will be: $17,000-$19,167 per month ($204,000-$230,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
