Offer Description
The National Institute of Horticultural is looking for a candidate for the position of Assistant Professor at the Agroengineering Department - Horticultural Technique Laboratory.
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Participating in conducting experimental work in the field of mechanized technologies for horticultural production, including field trials,
- Participating in developing concepts for horticultural machinery, tools, and research test beds,
- Participating in the construction of the aforementioned machinery, tools, and test beds,
- Compiling experimental results, analyzing data, and contributing to the preparation of research reports,
- Ongoing monitoring of the proper functioning of research machinery and experimental installations, as well as reporting failures/malfunctions to superiors,
- Participating in consultations and expert discussions,
- Preparing scientific articles,
- Participating in scientific conferences.
Requirements
Requirements for the Candidate:
- A Ph.D. degree in one of the disciplines listed above,
- Documented knowledge of the fundamentals of automation and robotics; experience in integrating automation system components as well as designing and executing dedicated measurement and control systems is welcome,
- Readiness for self-directed learning of robotic arm operation and programming systems,
- Knowledge of data analysis methods; familiarity with machine learning issues is welcome,
- Possess experience in using software such as CAD software and Statistica,
- Knowledge of issues related to precision agriculture,
- A category B driver's license and active driving ability,
- English language proficiency sufficient to prepare scientific articles and actively participate in conferences,
- Polish language proficiency at a communicative level.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates are requested to submit the following documents:
- Application for employment for the position of Assistant Professor,
- Copy of the Ph.D. diploma/degree certificate,
- Scientific Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a list of scientific publications, conference abstracts, ongoing/completed research projects, completed courses, trainings, awarded prizes and distinctions, and other achievements,
- Declaration of English language proficiency at a communicative level or a language certificate,
- Declaration of Polish language proficiency at a communicative level or a language certificate,
- Consent to the processing of personal data (without consent, the application will not be considered),
- Statement from the candidate confirming that, if employed as an Assistant Professor, The National Institute of Horticultural Research will be the primary place of employment.
