Utilizes innovative teaching methods, including traditional
lectures and interactive technologies
Creates, administers, and evaluates exams, quizzes, and other
assessments
Participates in software development to enhance evaluation of
student learning
Serves as a mentor, coach, and advisor to students
Assists in the development of program goals, policies, and
procedures
Engages in institutional meetings and academic activities as
requested
Represents the program and university with professionalism and
integrity
Clinical Responsibilities (40% FTE at approved clinical
partner):
- Delivers anesthesia care under the medical direction of a
physician anesthesiologist
- Serves as a clinical preceptor to student anesthesiologist
assistants
- Assists in the clinical scheduling of students as requested by
the Medical Director or designated Clinical Education
Coordinator
- Collaborates with the anesthesia care team to promote safe and
effective outcomes
- Stays current with clinical best practices through ongoing
education and training
- Complies with institutional protocols and clinical
standards
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant
program
- National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist
Assistants (NCCAA); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
certification
- Must be eligible for licensure to practice as an
Anesthesiologist Assistant in Missouri
- New graduates welcome; prior teaching or clinical experience is
a plus
- Candidates are required to meet credentialing requirements at
clinical partner site
