Thiel College, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Program Director, Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS). Thiel College seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented leader who will play a critical role in advancing the mission and growth of the Physician Assistant Studies Program.

As a key administrative and academic leader within the Physician Assistant Studies Program, the Assistant Program Director (APD) will oversee key aspects of accreditation compliance, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement. Working closely with the Program Director, the APD will maintain responsibility for documentation systems, and self-study processes, ensuring academic excellence and operational efficiency. The APD will join a close, collaborative team of dedicated educators who create a supportive learning environment for both colleagues and students.

Responsibilities

Accreditation and Compliance

  • Proactively support the Program Director in accreditation processes
  • Maintain comprehensive accreditation documentation systems and ensure compliance with all standards
  • Coordinate self-study activities and prepare required reports and submissions in collaboration with faculty teams
  • Monitor regulatory changes and work with program faculty to implement necessary adaptations

Program Assessment and Quality Improvement

  • Partner with faculty to design and implement comprehensive program assessment strategies
  • Facilitate collaborative analysis of student performance data, graduation rates, and employment outcomes
  • Develop assessment tools in partnership with faculty for curriculum evaluation and student progression
  • Lead faculty teams in creating data-driven recommendations for program enhancement

Faculty Development and Collaborative Leadership

  • Mentor and develop faculty expertise in assessment methodologies and accreditation requirements
  • Facilitate faculty professional development opportunities related to program evaluation and quality improvement
  • Foster collaborative team approaches to curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation activities
  • Build faculty capacity for continuous quality improvement and evidence-based program development

Administrative Support for the Program Director

  • Provide administrative backup and support to the Program Director in operations and program representation
  • Assist the Program Director in coordinating faculty teams for program development initiatives and strategic planning
  • Support the Program’s recruitment and admissions efforts by providing data analysis and documentation expertise
  • Support curriculum enhancement efforts by coordinating cross-functional teams and providing assessment-informed recommendations to the Program Director

Team-Based Student Support

  • Collaborate with faculty teams on student advising and progression committees
  • Work with faculty to develop comprehensive student support systems
  • Partner with program faculty in teaching responsibilities and course development
  • Foster team-based approaches to student mentoring and professional development

Qualifications

  • Nationally certified (NCCPA) physician assistant; other health professionals may be considered with equivalent qualifications (MD, DO, NP)
  • Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted state license (or eligibility)
  • Minimum of a Master's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years as a PA program faculty member
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
