This is an exciting opportunity to join the Regulations, Assessment and Student Casework (RASC) team in the position of Assistant Registrar (Student Conduct and Complaints). As an Assistant Registrar (SCC), you will provide high-level support and advice on all aspects of the University’s Student Complaints Procedure, Student Conduct and Behaviour Procedure and Fitness to Practise regulations to academic and professional colleagues across the institution. You will also maintain an active caseload of student complaints, university-level student conduct investigations and cases being looked at by the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA). You will also be involved in designing and delivering training and guidance materials, preparing annual reports and participating in pan-university enhancement projects and working groups.

The Person

We are looking for someone who already has a strong foundation in working with student conduct and complaints and a broad knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that this area of work brings. You will be confident in investigating and problem-solving complex complaints and conduct and behaviour issues with an ability to identify opportunities for early resolution with a focus on student support. You will have excellent interpersonal skills that will allow you to articulate complex matters in an accessible way and to design and deliver effective staff development.

Directorate/Function

The Academic Services Directorate includes Research & Impact, Knowledge Exchange, Academic Registry, Quality Assurance and Enhancement, the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre, Brand, Communications and Public Affairs and Development, Alumni Relations & Engagement (DARE). Collectively the Directorate supports academics in their research and KE activities and supports some of the University’s governance and decision-making committees, maintains academic regulations, develops and implements academic policies, oversees the quality and standards of academic provision and leads the development of education practices across the University.

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £45,025 per annum.
