The Executive Board of INESC-ID approved an international selection call for 1 (one) permanent employment contract for a Researcher Support Position (Project Manager) of the European Commission Horizon Europe Teaming project SAIL- Sustainable Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
1. OBJECTIVES | TASKS
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Project Manager to join the INESC-ID Innovation Management office to:
- Support the project coordinator in the coordination and monitorization of Horizon Europe projects from start to completion;
- Assure the respect of the deadlines in the projects;
- Collaborate in the development of new proposals and innovation activities;
Project Implementation, Coordination and Management
- Support the project coordinator in overseeing the overall execution and implementation of national and international projects;
- Support the organization of the consortium meetings and ensure smooth communication and collaboration among partners;
- Plan, organize and monitor the project activities, milestones, deliverables and periodic reports;
- Manage the internal review process for project deliverables to ensure quality and consistency;
- Provide administrative and operational support to project partners;
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of all project tasks and activities;
- Collaborate with the financial team to monitor and manage the project budget;
- Coordinate the preparation, consolidation and timely submission of financial and technical reports in close collaboration with the financial team and all partners;
- Identify funding opportunities and actively participate in the development of proposals of projects.
Networking and Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution;
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the institution to foster a collaborative research environment;
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with research partners, industry stakeholders, and relevant European consortia.

5. SALARY | MEAL ALLOWANCE
In compliance with the provisions of the INESC-ID Research Career internal regulations, the remuneration corresponds to index 195 of the scientific research career in force, which corresponds to a monthly remuneration, 3 576,56€ (Three thousand, five hundred and seventy-six euros and fifty-six cents), prior to any deductions or withholdings, working in an exclusive dedication basis.
Meal allowance per work day of 6,15€ (six euros and fifteen cents).
6. QUALIFICATIONS
Any national, foreign, and stateless candidate(s) holding a PhD, and demonstrating extensive professional expertise in strategic research development, scientific programme management, and grants management in European countries, may submit an application.
7. General call admission requirements
The general admission requirements include those specified in the previous point and that, from the candidate’s curriculum vitae, one may validate the compliance with productivity criteria such as:
- A highly relevant professional curriculum demonstrating extensive experience as a grants manager of publicly funded projects in academic and startup environments in Europe;
- Strong knowledge of the international scientific landscape and competitive funding schemes at the European level:
- Expert in budget planning, financial controlling, and ensuring strict cost compliance with EU regulations;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent proficiency in English and Portuguese.
8. EVALUATION OF CURRICULAR CAREER
The evaluation of curricular path focuses on relevance, quality and timeliness in the area of the call.
- Of the curriculum assessment 50%
- Of the training and activities of project management in Europe developed over the last five years and considered as having the greatest impact by the candidate 50%
The evaluation of the scientific and curricular career has two components, namely:
- The assessment of the curriculum vitae and other documentation presented is made in according to point 8 of this notice. This component of the evaluation is expressed in a scale of 0 to 100.
- The Jury may interview the first three candidates with higher classification in person or by video conference.
- If an interview is conducted, the punctuation proposed by each member of the jury is obtained by assigning a weighting factor of 50% to the curriculum vitae and other documentation presented, and a weighting factor of 50% to the interview.
Candidates shall be ordered by applying the successive voting method.
The jury has the faculty to not approve a candidate who is not considered on absolute merit according to point 7.
Candidates with an average score below 70, are not recommended for hiring
Minutes of the evaluation panel meeting are drawn up containing a summary of what has taken place in the meeting, as well as the votes cast by each of the members and their reasons, being available to the candidates whenever requested.
The final deliberation of the jury is approved by the President of INESC-ID, and it is his responsibility to establish the respective contract.
9. APPLICATION | SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
9.1 The application and supporting documents must be submitted via email to contratos@inesc-id.pt. with the documents stated in 9.2 and 9.3.
The application email should clearly state the reference on the subject 2026.010.CST and all documents must be presented in pdf form.
The candidates must indicate his / her consent so that the communications and notifications in the context of this hiring procedure can take place to the electronic address contratos@inesc-id.pt.
The application and documents should be submitted in English.
9.2 Applications are formalised by sending a Motivation Letter, addressed to the Board of INESC ID, including this announcement identification, full name, parents’ names, ID card / passport number and expiration date, taxpayer ID number, date and place of birth, marital status, occupation, residence and contact address, including email address and telephone.
9.3 Applications must include all supported documents referred by point 6 and 7 for call admission, namely:
- Copy of certificate or diploma;
- One page motivation letter for the position (in English).
- Detailed curriculum vitae, structured in accordance with the items in point 8 (two A4 page maximum)

11. Candidates who submit their application incorrectly or who do not prove the requirements required in this notice are excluded from admission. In case of doubt, the jury may demand any candidate to present documents proving those statements.
12. False statements made by the candidates will be punished according to the law.
13. The admitted and excluded candidates’ applicants will be notified by email of the final ranking list.
14. Prior Hearing and Deadline for Final Decision: After being notified, candidates have 10 working days to submit a formal rebuttal. Within the term of 30 days, counted from the deadline for the presentation of the candidacies, the final decisions of the jury are given.
15. This call is exclusively intended to fill the vacancy (s) indicated and may be terminated until the homologation of the final ranking list of candidates and expiring with the respective occupation of the working position on offer.
