Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Position Purpose
Oakland University, a Division I member of the Horizon League, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director of Academics and Sports Performance and the Director of Strength & Conditioning, the selected candidate will assist in the daily management of the Intercollegiate Athletics Weight Room. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily oversight and management of various Olympic Sports Programs. As the coordinator of those designated sport programs the selected candidate must be able to design and implement periodized, evidence-based, sport-specific programs for all teams. The candidate design, implement, teach, demonstrate, and supervise proper lifting, speed, agility, conditioning, and flexibility techniques while maintaining a safe and productive training environment while adhering to Oakland University, Horizon League, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, or similar field of study or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of Intercollegiate Strength & Conditioning experience.
- NSCA (CSCS) or CSCC (SCCC) as well as First Aid/ CPR / AED is required.
- Must have excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Must be a person of high integrity and character and represent Oakland University with the utmost professionalism.
- Potential candidates must submit a letter of interest, resume, and three professional references for consideration.
